Team effort wins award for Canadian company

Kate Marston - Monday, April 25, 2016

Read about our recent exhibition graphics and brochure design work for 360 Innovations, led by George Edwards of CanadaUK Partners.

A local business team led by George Edwards of CanadaUK Partners has delighted its overseas client by becoming a finalist in the hotly contested award for ‘Best Creative Shell Scheme Stand’ at a leading Window & Door Industry Show. The Awards were organised by the FIT (Fabricator Installer Trade) Show, which took place at the International Centre, Telford, from 12-14 April 2016. This success comes at a time when UKTI (UK Trade & Investment) is promoting Exporting is GREAT week to SMEs around the country.

Working on behalf of 360 Innovations, a Canadian company wishing to raise awareness and gain entry to the UK with its window and door software, the team consisting of George Edwards, Alison Page of Alison Page Marketing (APM) and Kate Marston of KM Design, put together and delivered a marketing plan during 2015 and 2016 culminating in participation at the FIT Show.

The FIT Show is the primary focus for the UK window, door and conservatory industry; forging a bridge between the manufacturers and distributors of products, components and services and the companies and individuals that fabricate and install them. Attendance at this year’s show was 45% up on 2014 with 8,502 unique visitors and more than 180 exhibitors occupying four halls at the conference centre.

Key elements of the marketing communication plan for 360i included: in-depth research into the UK market, competitors and potential clients; targeted data purchase; design and fulfilment of a bespoke brochure; telemarketing; social media; and attendance at the show. The stand itself was designed and built by Doran Design and Aiver Contracts, experienced stand contractors, with graphics created by KM Design.

Stephane Mondoux, CEO of 360 Innovations said of the team, “Since day one, our introduction to the UK market has been an amazing journey. We reached an incredible milestone by being the runner-up of FIT Show Awards in the Best Creative Shell Scheme Stand and finished in the top 3 in front of all these companies. I was really proud to see our company name in front of 900 people at the Gala Dinner! Everything went beyond our expectations and I can affirm there is a place for our solutions in the UK market.”

George Edwards concluded: “I’m delighted that I was able to put together a Tring-based core team, which met and overcame every challenge we faced, with great attention to detail, and a well thought out cohesive/integrated plan. This demonstrates that small businesses with complementary skills and experience and operating as a close-knit team, can punch above their individual weight, win important contracts with international businesses and gain additional experience and expertise. I am confident that our team can successfully win further international contracts on the back of the success of this project.”

Websites for Tring businesses

Kate Marston - Wednesday, March 23, 2016

Over the last few months we've completed three mobile friendly websites for Tring based businesses. The first is for Beacon Project Services, a quantity surveying company with whom we've worked with since Director Stephen Baker launched the business. We originally designed the logotype and stationery and this new site is the second we've produced for Beacon. With more case studies to display we created an expanded projects area. The navigation ensures clear routes to the services provided.

Another site is for The Nursery Press. Again The Nursery Press were a start-up business and we've created the logotypes and other marketing collateral for both areas of the business – Owl Track and Bright Look Planning. Initially the business had a very simple site but this re-working of it incorporates e-commerce so they can sell their planning books and Owl Track subscriptions online.

And finally back in January we launched the new site for Tring Brewery. With bold colourful entry banners on the Home screen the site features full product details for each beer they produce with beer ordering forms. Gift vouchers and Golden Toad memberships can be purchased online and tours can be booked through the calendar system. The site also features illustrations of each team member – these were great fun to do!

Logo and website for Hub Marketing

Kate Marston - Sunday, February 28, 2016

Here's a new logo design and website for Hub Marketing. With a brief for a professional, contemporary and un-cluttered design Hub Marketing wanted their logo and website to project strengths of proven expertise, sustainable growth focus and commercially minded.

After meeting and talking through the brief and after Claire at Hub Marketing had completed our branding questionnaire we came up with the below as one of the design options presented. The website was built on Wordpress and contains a blog and case study area for the client to easily update.

‘Kate designed my Marketing Consultancy's logo and website and was a real joy to work with. As well as being a talented designer, Kate also has a very good understanding of the commercial aspects of the business she is designing for and the questionnaire she uses as part of the briefing process really helps to illicit the objectives for the piece of work. She successfully combines design flair with real attention to detail and I would highly recommend her services.’ Claire Kennedy, owner Hub Marketing
